Prices And Styles Of Homes For Sale In Maryland Vary Widely

By Larry Wilson

People who are relocating to the northeast region of the United States have a lot of decisions to make. If you are moving here because you have business in the Washington D. C. Area, you might be looking for something just outside the beltway. Others find employment in the Baltimore area and want to find property convenient to their work. Annapolis, the capital of Maryland, is a real attraction for individuals who love spending time on the water. Whatever the reason you are looking at homes for sale in Maryland, you need to decide which area of the state works best for you.

Baltimore is one of the most populated cities in this country and one of the most historic. Many of its homes are on the National Register, some among the first in the country to be declared historic. Not all of the real estate has been around for hundreds of years however, and if you are looking for something small, compact and convenient, you can find a three bedroom condo in need of some tender loving care for less than thirty thousand dollars.

Buyers who are looking for something more traditional and with less maintenance should be able to tour a number of Baltimore neighborhoods offering three and four bedroom houses, with modern appliances, in the range of three to four hundred thousand dollars.

For those who enjoy sailing, Annapolis is a perfect spot. Families who want to move into a new home in a good area will probably have to spend over five hundred thousand dollars, but you can find four bedroom, baths homes with two and three levels, gourmet kitchens, fireplaces, and two car garages for the money.

The kind of individuals who are interested in one of the massive estates fronting the water in Annapolis are probably not concerned with their daily commutes. These incredible properties with secluded acreage surrounding them are a possibility for only a small percentage. Some are centuries old and have been lovingly updated with every care taken to maintain the original woodwork and unique features.

There are many Maryland residents who work in Washington, D. C. And commute there and back each day. For newcomers to the area, living in the nation's capital may not be the first choice. Bethesda is just a few miles from Washington, but far away from the hectic lifestyle. It can be an expensive place to live though unless you have a million dollars or so to spend on a nice home.

If you are not especially interested in owning a detached single family home and are willing to look at condos in Silver Springs, you can find something nice and secure for about two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars. Many include private balconies, vaulted ceilings, and open floor plans for the money.

Living in the heart of one of the busiest and most interesting places in the world can be a lot of fun and very exciting. You may want to be able to get away from it every once in awhile though. By purchasing property in the area surrounding the capitol, you can have the best of both worlds.
