The district called Hampstead

Towards the north of central London lies a district known as Hampstead which contains numerous open spaces belonging to the Hampstead Heath and unassuming historical places of interest. The famous attraction amongst the Regency homes in London, Kenwood House comprises of a museum about John Keats' life and work since the place was his former house. One will also be able to spot landscapes by John Constable all over Hampstead Heath. One would also find a number of cafes, restaurants and historical pubs in this city.

Hampstead Village - Laidback and fun

If you are visiting the Hampstead Village area then you should at least stay for two days because there is so much to see and do here. You can still find the charm of a village here but the place is quite wealthy. In fact few other sections in the inner boroughs of Hampstead are as wealthy as this one, which boasts of more than 18 grade II listed buildings, ostentatious ancient houses and sophisticated neighborhoods.

Film theatre

It also has one of the finest arthouse cinemas in the country, while being dotted by repertory theatres and non-mainstream shopping spots.

The Heath - a major attraction site

Right in the center of London is the Heath which has huge green spaces and entices or tempts people in London to visit it even though many may not know much about the remaining portion of the countryside.

Art and Literature in Hampstead

Legends like Alfred Tennyson, Kingsley Amis, John Constable, William Blake, William Hogarth, Ian Fleming, Anna Pavlova and John Keats have lived in this district therefore it is bound to have influential thespian, literary and artistic traditions even today.

Media in the area

The traditions are very much alive and so various people associated with the media, musicians, writers and actors love to reside here. The people living here often carry out protest or strong discussions for opposing any new changes to be introduced to the area they have been living in for so long.

Getting to Hampstead via trains

To get to the district, choose convenient train stops for London Overground line like Gospel Oak station and Hampstead Heath station. The Finchley Rd & Frognal station further towards west Hampstead also falls on the Overground line. In case of tube stations, Hampstead and Belsize Park are two of the train stops for Northern Line trains. Those travelling by Thameslink Line can board the train at stops in Brighton and English Midlands. Such trains are plenty in number and one can get a train every twenty minutes during the day.

Getting access to rental property

In South Hampstead region, rental property is easily accessible thanks to the hordes of houses and flats present here. If you don't want to make the big commitment of purchasing a house then rental property is the best choice in Hampstead, which is full of residential areas. If you want a peaceful area then rent the houses in Hampstead's leafy streets which can easily be accessed by bicycle, train or bus and is quite close to the Hampstead City Center.
