Fundraising Companies To Help Your Organization

By Terry H Fuller

The ways to raise money are only limited by imagination. There are car washes, marathons, selling cookies, spaghetti dinners and golf tournaments just to name a few. Perhaps your first decision will be to sell a product or hold an event. Talk to people who have done this before and do some research on the Internet. There are many, many fundraising companies that have experience and will help make your fundraiser a success.

The first thing to consider is the demographic that you want to buy your product. Do not sell books for children to raise money for redecorating a retirement home. Try to understand what your potential customers would want to purchase. Another factor is the profit margin. The smaller the profit margin the more work you will have to do to achieve your goal and vice versa.

There are companies that will provide you with selling tools and ship the product for you. All that is required is payment from the customer. One surprising fundraiser is sheets. At first it sounds odd, but upon second thought you realize that everyone is potential customer. Also the profit is up to eighteen dollar per sale.

Take the time to do some research to make sure you make the smart choice for your organization. There are resources online that you can download, and they provide excellent advice and ideas. One catalog tells the profit margin to expect and how to market your product. They will also provide you with links to companies, who will contact you in hopes that you will choose their product.

Group activities are fun and they can be very profitable. These may not be as straight forward as selling candles, but the opportunity for bigger rewards is certainly there. Have a tennis tournament and sell tickets. Include a silent auction for lessons from the club professional. If your target market loves tennis, this will be a huge success. Social events are great morale builders, which is an added benefit.

Gala parties and karaoke night are also fun. Be sure you are having an event that your feel will appeal to your crowd. Most people have donated to a marathon where kids are paid an amount of cents or dollars for each lap they run. Taking this to the nth degree, think of the walk for breast cancer. This is a huge undertaking, but something similar on a smaller scale could be effective and profitable.

Websites like Double the Donation and Fundraising.com are a wealth of information and resources. This is a good way to contact some companies to help with your event. It is always a good feeling to help other people and causes. Have a profitable and memorable event.
