How Collection Services May Work For Jane Foster

By Rob Sutter

It's hard to imagine that I am not as big of a fan of the people of Asgard from "Thor" as I am of those from Earth. In particular, Jane Foster has shown that females in superhero movies can be very strong as well as heroes in their own right. To say the least, I was surprised with the film and I thought that the characters had kept me glued to the screen throughout each of the events. Is it possible, though, that Foster can find collection services coming into her possession?

Jane Foster's character is well-written but it'd be wrong to leave out how well-acted she is as well. Natalie Portman has taken on the role as Foster and I am glad to say that she does the role a great amount of justice. She seems to be invested in the character, being able to possess the level of caring as well as daring to go about anything that she would set her mind to. It's easy to get behind the character, which I believe is a testament to an actress I haven't though much of beforehand.

As you could imagine, there were a number of obstacles that she had to approach with bravery. For example, I was surprised with how quick she was to go up to S.H.I.E.L.D., the group which took it upon itself to confiscate all of her equipment she built her entire work upon. She didn't want to simply roll over and allow fate to take hold. While she was initially unsuccessful, it was clear that she didn't want to stop until she was able to attain justice.

It's apparent that Foster's character is one to focus on, whether or not collection services come into play or not. If an agency along the lines of Rapid Recovery was hired on, though, I would like to imagine that it would have been easier for her to go up to S.H.I.E.L.D. This would be especially true after Thor proved that he was who he claimed to be: a crown prince. This is a world where justice is dealt by superheroes, though, so I think that forgiveness is an element that will be most prevalent.

"Thor," as a movie, is fun and I am all for seeing the second film whenever it makes its way into theaters. My only hope is that the same likability in the cast is seen because I think that was what helped to make it that much better. There were certain roles that I was impressed by and Jane Foster, portrayed by Natalie Portman, was arguably the biggest surprise to me. Seeing as how I didn't expect much out of Portman, at least initially, she impressed me in the role.
